Google Photos adds new memory-management features

Google Photos Cinematic Photo enhancements

Google Photos added several new enhancements to help consumers manage their photo memories. The company has added a People & Pets widget to Android home screens.

Google Photo also rolled out an update to Cinematic photos, which were first launched a year ago. These creations use machine learning to produce a video of a moment in 3D. The new  Cinematic photos effect fills in parts of the background behind the subject, allowing the virtual camera to move more freely as it finds the best framing to bring attention to your subject.

In addition to viewing Memories in the Google Photos app on a phone or tablet, users can now view them on the Nest Hub device as part of the “Your Day” tab.
